About CSA Connectivity Standards Alliance
On May 11, 2021, the Zigbee Alliance, a group of hundreds of companies that jointly create, maintain and deliver global open standards for the Internet of Things (IoT), announced that it has changed its name to the "Connectivity Standards Alliance" (CSA).
At the same time, a new brand was launched, Matter, previously known in the industry as Project Connected Home over IP (Project CHIP) - the future of reliable connectivity.
The newly designed Matter logo will become a mark of approval, proving that products built on this standard are inherently reliable, designed to be secure and widely compatible.
Matter is a new member of the Alliance's growing portfolio of leading connectivity standards, including Zigbee, Smart Energy, Green Power and other standards for professional fields.
The Alliance will continue to develop and advance the Zigbee standard, and its brand remains unchanged.

What is Zigbee?
Zigbee is synonymous with the IEEE802.15.4 protocol.
The technology specified by this protocol is a short-range, low-complexity, low-power, low-data-rate, low-cost two-way wireless communication technology, which is mainly suitable for the fields of automatic control and remote control, can be embedded in various devices, and supports geolocation functions.
Since bees (bees) rely on flying and "buzzing" (zig) to "dance" their wings to communicate with their companions about the location and distance of pollen, that is, bees rely on this method to form a communication "network" in the group, so the inventors of Zigbee use this behavior of bees to vividly describe this wireless information transmission technology.
